Background and Discussion:

This funding is expected to improve the health and comfort of animals at Harris County Pets and support various shelter initiatives in striving for positive outcomes for animals. The funding will support the growth of the critical Harris County Pets programs and activities such as foster care, animal enrichment, intake diversion and volunteer engagement.

 

Expected Impact:

With acceptance of this extension, the Veterinary Public Health division will continue to provide resources and services to the community to reduce the number of animals at the shelter.
