Background and Discussion:
Harris County and the Willow Fork Drainage District would like to enter into an agreement for the design and construction of a hike and bike trail along T103-00-00 from Mason Road to approximately 2,600 linear feet east of South Fry Road. However, as the project area lies within land owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers which was leased to the County via an outgrant, the Army Corps of Engineers will need to be notified of the proposed project and they will need approve of it. Per the Army Corps of Engineers, the Real Estate Application will need to be filled out to provide notification.
Expected Impact:
The County will receive permission from the Army Corps of Engineers to proceed with the design and construction of the hike and bike trail along T103-00-00.
Alternative Options:
Without permission from the Army Corps of Engineers, the County will not be able to enter into an agreement with the District for the proposed project, thus depriving the surrounding community of recreational opportunities.
