Background and Discussion:

The location of the work is in the Oak Glen Place (East) subdivision in the Halls Bayou Watershed. The proposed improvements include installation of a new storm sewer system, driveways paving, widening, and regrading of existing roadside ditches, and construction of a new detention pond.

The Change in contract is needed to reconcile the overrunning items with the underrunning items and adding a new line item to the contract. Below is a summary of changes:

Added a new line item #146 - swapping asphalt driveways with 6” reinforced concrete driveways and item #151 - replacement of existing concrete walkways for an additional cost in the amount of $325,523.00 and 6 calendar days.

Quantity Adjustment: The items are adjusted to reconcile overrun and underrun quantities on the project. The increase of quantities removing asphalt driveways, crushed aggregate driveways, filter fabric barrier, (items 4, 18 and 117) for an addition in the amount of $23,304.96.

The decrease of quantities on underrun line item#20 for a deduction in the amount of $320,188.00

The above additions and deductions resulted in a net addition to the contract in the amount of $28,639.96 and 6 calendar days.

Expected Impact:

This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Oak Glen Place (East) subdivision.
