Background and Discussion:
The Harris County Housing and Community Development Office of Tranist Services (HCT) seeks a renewal of a contract agreement with Passio Technologies for the provision of automated vehicle locator (AVL), Automated Vehicle Annunciator (AVA), Automatic Passenger Counters (APCs), Wi-Fi and bus dispatching services for HCT’s various transportation systems.
Expected Impact:
Tracking vehicles, voice annunciators, and passenger counting are an essential part of operating a transit operation. Voice annunciators are required under Federal Transit Administration guidelines, Accurate passenger counting is part of the County’s key performance indicators needed for federal funding. Bus dispatching applications are used for County residents to schedule their own transit trips.
