Background and Discussion:

The purpose of the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) prepared by HR Green was to identify a drainage improvement project for the Q136-00-00 watershed (a tributary of Cedar Bayou) that will provide water surface elevations reductions within the watershed. The proposed project consists of 1,100 feet of channel improvements, together with an 82 ac-ft detention pond north of Huffman-Eastgate Rd. Supporting design information collected as part of the PER includes topographic survey of the basin and channel in the study area, geotechnical investigation, subsurface utility engineering exploration, jurisdictional wetland delineation, and a threatened and endangered species assessment.

Expected Impact:

The acceptance of this PER will allow the Flood Control District to move into the design stage of the recommended project, once the necessary funding is in place.

Alternative Options:

The alternative should this PER not be approved is that the Flood Control District will not be able to proceed to the design phase of our project lifecycle.
