Background and Discussion:
The project is in Harris County, Precinct 3 in City of Houston. The scope of work consists of but not limited to the rehabilitation for Asphalt roadways - Approximately 7.54 miles of roads as follows: Wood Edge Drive and Jones Road.
The Changes in contract include:
• Adding new line item of 8-inch Cement Stabilized Sand (CSS) in the amount of 2,500 SY and additional days of 17 calendar days to improve and stabilize subgrade failures at various locations throughout the project limits, in accordance with the Engineer’s recommendations.
Expected Impact:
Roadway rehabilitation will provide a new road section designed for major thoroughfare traffic and include intersection improvement. Improving the roadways will ensure reliable and safe transportation routes to businesses and residents of Harris County. Work will also include signing & pavement striping, and site restoration.
Alternative Options:
Leaving roadways in its current condition will continue to deteriorate if repairs and rehabilitation are not performed in the near future.
