Request that the County Judge execute an agreement with Flock Group, Inc., for data sharing of Flock’s vehicle license plate camera reader information for a five-year period once executed.

Background and Discussion:
Flock Group, Inc. assists law enforcement agencies nationwide through such agreements that allow agencies access to their vehicle license plate camera reader information. These cameras read license plates and send instant alerts to law enforcement officers when the cameras identify license plates that match those on lists of cars that are stolen or otherwise of interest to the police. This agreement has been vetted by the Harris County Attorney’s Office and there is no cost associated with this request.
Expected Impact:
Having access to Flock Group, Inc.’s data will provide an immensely useful investigative tool when trying to solve crimes in our area. Such agreements have been allowed by law enforcement agencies to more quickly develop leads that ultimately allow officers to locate wanted subjects involved in criminal activity.
