Project Description:

This project is to upgrade these four Community Centers (San Jacinto, Mendenhall, Crosby, and Vera May) with a modern audio visual package that will allow for presentations to a large group as well as hybrid capability.

Project Scope:

The project will include demolish of existing systems which are antiquated and inadequate, and the installation of new and upgraded systems, including; ceiling- mounted HD projectors or wall-mounted monitors, professional control ceiling loudspeakers, wireless mic system with both handheld and lavalier microphones, mounts, cables and chargers, cameras, power adapters, internal dsp with crossovers, built in wifi hotspot, wifi or fast ethernet connectivity, high efficiency power supply, wall-mount touch panel, bluetooth audio format, usb 3.0 hub, user training, shipping and labor.

Justification:

Old systems, where they exist, are completely outdated and unreliable.  Some of these Community Centers have no system.  The old systems do not always work with outside presenters’ equipment.

Alternatives and Engagement:

Since the community centers function as meeting places for presentations to large groups and meeting places for Town Halls, meetings that are plagued by technical difficulties or poor communication are likely to be unproductive. Not upgrading the current systems would disrupt the meeting flow and waste time. If the sound quality is poor, it can be difficult for people to hear each other, leading to misunderstandings and missed information.
