Background and Discussion:
The Sports Authority Board is responsible for overseeing the overall direction of the organization and plays a strategic role in supporting economic growth, enhancing quality of life for residents, and helping to maintain the region’s reputation as a top host for marquee events. The Board is composed of 13 members: six members are appointed by Harris County and six by the City of Houston. The Chair is jointly selected and appointed by the Harris County Commissioners Court and the City of Houston.
