Background and Discussion:

Brookglen Stormwater Detention Basin includes the construction of a dry bottom basin with maintenance path and a floatable screen system on a former neighborhood cul-de-sac. The purpose of this transmittal is to submit the Certificate of Substantial Completion, confirming that the Contractor has fulfilled the scope of work and resolved all punch list items to the satisfaction of the Flood Control District.

Expected Impact:

Substantial Completion signifies that a flood control project is largely finished, allowing the Flood Control District to begin using most of the infrastructure to realize intended flood risk reduction benefits while the Contractor completes any applicable minor outstanding details.  The improvements made through this project will reduce flood risk across multiple tributaries in the Cypress Creek Watershed.

Alternative Options:

There is no viable alternative to accepting substantial completion when a Contractor successfully completes the work scope of a contract.
