Background and Discussion:
Each year, the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation (HCSCC), in coordination with the Harris County Office of Management & Budget, procures and pays the property insurance policies for NRG Park, a Harris County owned facility, with reimbursement provided by Harris County.
For the current policy year, the total property insurance premium for NRG Park decreased by $875,162 compared to the prior year. HCSCC has undertaken significant operational, capital, and risk management improvements at the park, which are believed to have contributed to this favorable insurance outcome and resulting reduction in premium costs.
