Background and Discussion:

Every year, the businesses that are members of the Houston Ship Channel Security District (HSCSD) nominate individuals, one from each of the District’s four geographical zones, to serve on the District’s Board of Directors. Then, pursuant to section 68.152(b) of the Texas Water Code, Commissioners Court formally appoints the nominees to the Board.

This year, the following four individuals were nominated for Board seats: Zone 1: Mark Griffin, Security Supervisor / Exxon Mobil Baytown; Zone 2: Buck Tadlock, EHS Specialist and FSO / New Market Group; Zone 3: Gary Scheibe, Security Manager and FSO / Pemex Deer Park; and Zone 4: Clayton Pace, President / Seatex LLC.

The District’s Board of Directors requests the Court’s consideration and action on the nominees. If appointed, each of these Zone directors will serve a two-year term beginning January 1, 2025, and ending on December 31, 2026.

Expected Impact:

Compliance with Texas Water Code § 68.152(b).
