Background and Discussion:

Funding will provide public access to the basin and provide new fishing opportunities to the Hill at Sims with the introduction of an ADA-accessible water access pier constructed and sidewalk from the path to the fishing pier. Matching funds will be used to construct the parking lot and 0.55 miles of ADA-accessible trails to the water access pier. It will also fund native plantings at the water access pier which will provide habitat for both invertebrates and fishes as well as reduce erosion. Other amenities included in this phase include benches, trash cans, interpretive signage, a water fountain, and additional native plantings.

Expected Impact:

Equitable opportunities for people of all abilities to access park features.
