Background and Discussion:

Harris County requires professional engineering services to complete an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funded wastewater infrastructure project for the Westfield Estates subdivision in Precinct 2. Westfield Estates currently relies primarily on outdated and failing septic systems for wastewater services.

 

Expected Impact:

The proposed wastewater improvements would significantly improve environmental health and safety within the Westfield Estates subdivision, while increasing overall quality of life. Access to wastewater services has a potential to increase developments within the area.

 

Alternative Options:

Harris County would have to increase staffing and budgets to perform and execute the work, which is more effectively completed by a professional engineering consultant.
