Background and Discussion:

Commissioners Court approved award of this construction contract on June 27, 2023.  Construction costs were adversely impacted by significant market fluctuations and the construction award to Broaddus Construction, LLC expired.  The best solution for the county is to rescind the award, and re-advertise the project.  This solicitation will lead to the construction contract for a new Lynchburg Ferry Operations and Maintenance building.

This project has received grant funds from Federal Highway Administration and Texas Department of Transportation, the MWDBE has been coordinated with TxDOT.

Expected Impact:

This project will remove the current ferry operations building and construct a new operations and maintenance building with an attached maintenance warehouse for increased efficiency and safety of operations and maintenance.

Alternative Options:

No other recommended solutions for this identified need.

Alignment with Goal(s):

_ Justice and Safety

_ Economic Opportunity

_ Housing

_ Public Health

X Transportation

_ Flooding
