Project Description:

Harris County Commissioner Precinct 3 is pursuing funding for replacements and additions to our Road & Bridge, Engineering, and Parks divisions in conjunction with the $2.5 million non-voted commercial paper program allocated to each Commissioner Precinct.

Project Scope:

The project includes purchasing approximately eight vehicles and four pieces of large equipment for a total of $1,211,213.  This price includes all charges associated with the equipment, including delivery.

Justification:

To support the operational needs of our infrastructure teams by replacing aging equipment and providing them the tools they need to better serve the public. Taking a proactive approach to modernizing our fleet enhances safety for our employees and provides long-term savings by lowering maintenance costs.

Alternatives and Engagement:

These purchases would have to be deferred to a future fiscal year, potentially leading to higher long-term costs and the other hazards of an aging fleet.
