Background and Discussion:
The Clean Streets, Safe Neighborhoods Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) program aims to reduce violent crime through interventions in specific zip codes or census tracts with the highest rates of violence through the installation and improvement of infrastructure. The Civic Art Initiative was created to enhance the built environment and to make public spaces more appealing, useful, and accessible through the incorporation of artwork. This has been approved by the ARPA Steering Committee.

• Barrett - Streetlights and Engineering Master Plan
• Cloverleaf - Sidewalks, Streetlights, and Pedestrian Lights
• Cypress Station - Sidewalks and Streetlights
• East Aldine - Sidewalks, Streetlights, and Pedestrian Lights
• Gulfton - Shade Structures, Pedestrian Lights, Art, and Sidewalks
• Highlands - Streetlights and Engineering Master Plan

• Sharpstown - Shade Structures, Pedestrian Lights, Art, and Sidewalks
• South Houston - Shared Use Path, Landscaping, and Pedestrian Lights (pending Commissioners Court Approval)
• Sunnyside - SPARK Park, Streetlights, and Landscaping
