Background and Discussion:

Request for approval of a leasing agreement with 7457 Harwin- JAC, LLC for a clinical office space to support the operations of the Refugee Health Screening Program (RHSP). The RHSP of Harris County Public Health (HCPH) provides vital health services to over 13,000 refugees annually, including comprehensive health screenings and immunizations. These services are crucial for ensuring health and well-being of refugee populations and the greater community.

Expected Impact:

This leasing agreement will allow us to continue delivering essential services, including health screenings, vaccines administration, and other critical support to newly arrived refugees. This clinic space is located near where the majority of our patients live and this proximity is especially important for refugees given they face transportation barriers.

Alternative Options:

If the leasing agreement is not approved, it would significantly disrupt care for these patients. Many would lose access to timely medical services. Maintaining this location is a matter of continuity of care.

County Strategic Plan Goal: 2. Connect our community with safe, reliable, equitably distributed, and well-maintained infrastructure.
