Background and Discussion:
The project involves the design and construction of an approximately 1.4 mile of shared use path (SUP)
along the west high bank of Swengel Ditch (C128-00-00) and Sims Bayou (C100-00-00), extending from
Reed Road and the Sims Bayou Greenway Trail at Airport Road. The project will also include the
replacement of the existing pedestrian bridge at Wilmington, crossing the channel.

This project will provide a continuous, off-street connection for nearby neighborhoods, schools, and community destinations, enhancing pedestrian and bicycle connectivity and safety within the precincts trail system.
