Background and Discussion:

Harris County Public Health (HCPH) was awarded and received funding from CDC to develop strategic partnerships and policies to prevent childhood lead poisoning and other housing-related health hazards. It also promotes secondary prevention efforts by enhancing lead testing through the education of public health professionals and pediatric healthcare providers on State Reporting forms. Additionally, the program conducts home visits for families with children who have elevated blood lead levels.
