Background and Discussion:
This On-Call Term Contract for Concrete Sidewalk and Related Items in Harris County includes, but is not limited to, the construction of concrete sidewalks, concrete pavement, traffic striping and pavement markings, and associated improvements. For the Denver Harbor Park Improvement Project, the contractor shall remove the existing asphalt trail and replace it with a new concrete trail, install park benches, upgrade the parking lot, install new park signage, and provide striping and pedestrian-crossing improvements at the trail connection point to the adjacent street.
PCO#1 - The new bid items were not included in the original On-Call Contract and would typically require formal addition through the FCR and PO amendment process since this is a money contract. However, the contract has already been amended through the referenced process. Therefore, the addition of these bid items will be addressed solely through this CIC, using the mutually agreed unit prices and without adding any additional funds to the contract.
The new bid items include removal and disposal work, PVC piping, concrete trench curb, steel plate swale bridges, borrow material, and new park benches.
Expected Impact:
This action allows for the completion of the project as designed and per the contract documents and the Contractor to be compensated for the actual work performed.
