title

Request for approval to execute an interlocal agreement with the Bridgestone Municipal Utility District for a service agreement that adds sewer service to existing water service in connection with Wastewater System Rehabilitation - Spring Camp and Klein Park - 2022, Job No. 25/0079, UPIN 23103MF2VT01, Precinct 3.

Background and Discussion:

The wastewater from Spring Camp and Klein Park is currently pumped to an existing On-Site Sewage Facility. Sander Engineering Corporation was tasked with providing design, bid, and construction phase services for the design and construction of a lift station, force main, and sanitary sewers to eliminate the On-Site Sewage Facility and send the wastewater to the Bridgestone Municipal Utility District, which is the closest utility district to Spring Camp and Klein Park. The Bridgestone Municipal Utility District already provides water service to Spring Camp and Klein Park.

Expected Impact:

This project will reduce maintenance costs for the Precinct as well as prevent potential environmental hazards caused by an aging On-Site Sewage Facility in a public park.

Alternative Options:

If Bridgestone Municipal Utility District does not provide sewer service, then the project could not be constructed, and the Precinct would continue to incur increased maintenance costs related to the On-Site Sewage Facility.
