Background and Discussion:

This is a General Watershed Repair contract for projects located in the (G) San Jacinto River, (S) Luce Bayou, (R) Jackson Bayou, (Q) Cedar Bayou, (O) Spring Gully & Goose Creek, (N) Carpenters Bayou, and (P) Greens Bayou Watersheds.   It will be bid as a term contract, and work orders will be issued under the contract with specific plan sets. Major emphasis of this Repair Contract will be earthwork, including but not limited to erosion repair, slope failure repair, removal and disposal of sediment accumulations, granular fill and riprap installation, pipe removal and replacement, headwall and wingwall removal and replacement, concrete channel lining removal and replacement, concrete low-flow removal and replacement, outfall structure removal and replacement and related items.

 

Expected Impact:

The intent of this contract is to establish a means for conducting priority repair work orders located in the    (G) San Jacinto River, (S) Luce Bayou, (R) Jackson Bayou, (Q) Cedar Bayou, (O) Spring Gully & Goose Creek, (N) Carpenters Bayou, and (P) Greens Bayou Watersheds.  This project will remove sediment to improve conveyance, repair erosions and failed slopes, and replace deteriorated pipes.

 

 

Alternative Options:

Do not proceed with the project.  The channel conditions will continue to deteriorate causing impacts downstream and to adjacent property.
