Background and Discussion:

The project includes the design and construction of over 7-mile sidewalk along Spears Road, TC Jester Boulevard and Walters Road within and near the Claughton Middle School attendance boundaries.   The improvement also includes the pedestrian signal upgrades to the current standard at multiple signalized intersections. The proposed encroachment application is to install the sidewalk to avoid two major power pole relocations.

Expected Impact:

The proposed easement will provide a safe route to the school and neighborhood connectivity to the commercial facilities along the major roads.

Alternative Options:

If not approved, the power poles have to be relocated which delay the project advertisement and construction.
