Background and Discussion:

The project will create a new park and recreational space in the Kingwood area and will provide the following services: boat ramp (free for the public) as well as a park and playground space, nature trails, an environmental observation area, and a connection to the spring creek greenway system.  The project will also preserve various native wildlife and vegetated areas that are unique to the coastal prairies.

Expected Impact:

The park will allow users of the Kingwood area a place to explore nature and the environment.  The park will contain a boat ramp (free for the public) as well as a park and playground space, nature trails, an environmental observation area, and a connection to the spring creek greenway system.

Alternative Options:

Without the parcel we will not be able to connect the regional trail between parcels owned by Harris County.  We will also not be able to connect to the adjacent eastern trail system.
