Background and Discussion:
On June 28, 2022, Commissioners Court approved the grant award from the Office of the Governor for grant funds in the amount of $38,963,352.20, with no cash match requirement and a grant end date of August 31, 2023. The first no cost grant extension request was approved by Commissioners Court on October 10, 2023 which extended the award through May 31, 2024. This no cost extension request through June 30, 2024 is necessary to complete project activities.
Expected Impact:
This grant extension will enable funding to complete project activities for the TAG Center. There is no impact to the general fund.
Alternative Options:
If we do not extend this grant award, the Sheriff’s Office will forfeit the opportunity to complete necessary TAG Center project activities.
