Background and Discussion:

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is a professional organization that leads collaboration among government and industry to develop multidisciplined solutions to national infrastructure challenges. Membership in SAME allows the Flood Control District to connect and collaborate for success within the public sector architectural, engineering and construction industry.  Membership provides access to opportunities to collaborate and network with industry leaders in a collaborative public service environment and the ability to achieve professional, business, and project specific goals within the public sector infrastructure industry.  It provides the opportunity for growth in both professional and personal skills and knowledge and exposure to industry-wide problems and solutions.  Membership includes major funding partners on the Flood Control District projects such as the United States Army Corps of Engineers, allowing for collaboration in an informal environment and fosters relationships with agencies for the advancement of shared goals.

Expected Impact:

Membership dues for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) in the amount of $725.
