Background and Discussion:

This grant would provide funding for the Sheriff’s Auto Theft Unit and for the District Attorney’s Office during the period of September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2025 to combat catalytic converter theft.

 

Expected Impact:

This grant would provide funding for the Sheriff’s Auto Theft Unit and for the District Attorney’s Office to combat catalytic converter theft and continue participation with the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority which fosters a statewide collaborative network amongst auto theft units. 

 

Alternative Options:

Not applying for this grant would forfeit the funding opportunity for the Auto Theft Unit.
