Background and Discussion:

Precinct 3 is requesting the Office of the County Engineer to enter into an agreement for professional engineering services to provide Construction Phase services for the subject drainage project which consists of design of the drainage improvements along Elm Shores Drive in Lakeshore Section 1 as well as a new outfall and headwall into Lake Houston. The recommended solution involves the addition of a storm sewer along Elm Shores Drive with a new outfall near the corner of Elm Shores Dr. and Cedar Shores Dr. The scope of work is to design the recommended storm sewer and obtain a drainage or storm sewer easement. The design shall include site restoration within the proposed easement.

Expected Impact:

The maintenance project will improve the drainage quality for the community in the specified area.

Alternative Options:

The alternative is not to complete the project, and the drainage issues will continue to exist.
