Background and Discussion:
The location of the work is in the Fallbrook, Ridgepoint, and Westpoint Subdivisions in the Halls Bayou Watershed. The proposed improvements include installation of a new storm sewer system, roadway paving, channel restoration and desilting.
The change in contract includes the following:
Quantity Adjustment: The line items are adjusted to reconcile overrun and underrun quantities on the project for completion of the proposed scope of work.
• The increase of quantities on overrun line-item numbers 4, 6, 27, 47, 61, 64, 69, and 80 for an addition in the
amount of $10,304.10.
• The decrease of quantities on underrun line item numbers 3, 7, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 28, 50, 51, 52, 54, 55, 56, 57, 65, 66, 67, 68, 70, 72, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 81, 82, 83, 84, 86, 87, 88, 89, 93, 98, 99, and 100 for a deduction in the amount of $309,198.26.
• Added 32 calendar to the project time due to a waterline conflict encountered along West Road and due to dewatering the water entering the work zone from outside the project limits.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation
of structural flood damage to homes in the Fallbrook, Ridgepoint and Westpoint subdivision.
Alternative Options:
The County could elect to fund the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the contractor will not be able to complete the scope of work.
