Background and Discussion:

The Inwood Forest Stormwater Detention Basin is currently under construction.  The project includes the conversion of approximately 200-acre of golf course fairways into a regional detention basin with multiple cells through an inter-local agreement between the Flood Control District and the City of Houston.  This amendment will provide funding to complete construction phase services and the final construction survey to calculate the final excavation quantities for payment to the construction contractor. This project occurs in the 3rd quartile under the 2022 Prioritization Framework approved by Commissioners Court.

Expected Impact:

The Inwood Detention Basin will provide 1,274 acre-feet of detention volume which will be equally shared by the parties to provide flood mitigation and general flood damage reduction benefits to residents of Harris County.

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be that the Flood Control District will not move forward with this agreement and seek another means to obtain final construction survey.
