Background and Discussion:
The Harris County Flood Control District has received Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) and Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) grants from the Texas General Land Office. The Flood Control District requires construction materials engineering and testing services in support of these CDBG projects. This Request for Qualifications is for Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Services to assist the Flood Control District in providing quality assurance and control during the construction phase of these projects.
Expected Impact:
Firms will provide construction materials engineering and testing to provide quality assurance for the identified projects resulting in quality and long-lived flood risk reduction projects for the residents of Harris County.
Alternative Options:
Not renew these agreements and initiate new vendor selection. This would result in delays to construction and Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Services not being refundable on Federally Funded CDBG projects.
