Background and Discussion:

This Amendment No. 2 will continue archeological and environmental consulting services for the White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project, Channel Modifications Discrete Segment 106, from Cole Creek to Hollister Street.  This amendment is needed as the construction time frame has been increased from the original scope due to a change in the construction contractor.

Expected Impact:

Archeological and Environmental Consulting Services will provide compliance for Flood Control District construction of the White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project according to historic preservation regulations and the programmatic agreement between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Texas State Historic Preservation Officer, and the Harris County Flood Control District.

Alternative Options:

The alternative to approving this item would be to obtain a contract with a new vendor for these required services, which would result in a pause to construction to allow a new vendor to be selected and to obtain a new permit for archeological monitoring.
