Background and Discussion:

The purpose of this contract change is to add 61 calendar days to the contract duration and no change to the project budget. This change in contract is needed to complete the construction contract for this project. Keegans Bayou-General Repairs-US 59 to S Dairy Ashford includes Erosion Repairs Between US 59 and South Dairy Ashford Road for the Harris County Flood Control District.

Expected Impact:

This change will allow the contractor to construct the project so that Harris County can realize intended flood risk reduction benefits.

Alternative Options:

This is an active construction contract, so there are not many alternatives to approving a change order other than cancelling the contract which is not recommended as doing so would substantially delay the remaining work in the construction contract.
