Background and Discussion:

The County has the ability to recommend to the Mayor of the City of Houston for nomination and appointment to the TIRZ 20 Board two members as a result of the Court’s approval of an interlocal agreement between the County, the City, the TIRZ, and the Southwest Houston Redevelopment Authority. Since TIRZ 20 is largely within the boundaries of Precinct 4, the commissioner of that precinct may nominate individuals for the positions as provided in the adopted Boards and Commissions Uniform Board Policies and Procedures, Section 8, D. Appointment Process.

Expected Impact:

To ensure representation of Harris County’s interests on the TIRZ 20 Board.
