Background and Discussion:
The existing restroom building at Mercer Botanic Gardens is a wood-framed building constructed in or around 1977, with an addition added to the building sometime later. The blue building is in the 100-year floodplain and in poor condition. This change in contract is a removal of sanitary systems tie-in to the restroom for deduction amount of $4,900.00 to Harris County which includes cost and labor.
Expected Impact:
This change allows unused funds to be returned to Harris County and allows the Contractor to be compensated with retention pending this court action.
Alternative Options:
Should we not move forward with this change order funds will not to be returned to Harris County and retention will not be released.
