title
Transmittal by the Office of Management and Budget of proposed FY2026 CIP projects, submitted by County departments.
end
Background and Discussion:
In preparation for FY2026, OMB gathered proposals for new CIP projects from County departments. OMB has received 97 new requests totaling at least $396M.
Items are unedited, as submitted by departments. The project list does not include projects run by precincts or non-general fund departments. Not all projects will start in FY2026, and not all projects may ultimately go forward. Not all projects have been evaluated for feasibility, legal compliance, or CIP eligibility, but OMB wanted to provide a full inventory of department requests to prepare for an estimate of financial obligation in FY26. Some initiatives submitted may be consolidated for ease of implementation or as a part of the 5-Year Fiscal Plan or other Commissioners Court-approved initiative.
Furthermore, due to the continuous nature of the CIP process approved by the Commissioners Court, some additional requests may come up during the year that are not on this list. None of the projects have existing court approval as of May 2025, and all projects will go through the standard Investment Memo process for Commissioners Court approval before launch.
Expected Impact:
The submissions include projects aligned to five County Strategic Goals as well as other essential work for County facilities and operations.
