Background and Discussion:

Pine Trails Subdivision is in Northeast Harris County, Texas, Precinct 2 (redistricted from Precinct 1). Phases 1 and 2 are located on the Northwest and Southwest side of the Pine Trails subdivision respectively. The subdivision consists of approximately 525 acres and 1,800 homes. The residents have experienced structural flooding during several recent flood events. Approximately 264 homes were reported to have flooded during Hurricane Harvey. Proposed improvements include an upgraded storm sewer system and two detention basins. This agreement will provide Professional Services from the Engineer of Record during construction phase.

Expected Impact:

This project seeks to reduce flooding and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Pine Trails community. No impact on project schedule or cost anticipated.

Alternative Options:

If no action is taken, the engineer of record will not be accessible for support through the construction of the project.
