Background and Discussion:

The project intends to reduce area flood risk by maximizing the detention volume prior to rain event. In advance of a severe storm, the system will reduce the Goforth Detention Basin water surface by 3 feet in 48 hours thereby increasing the volume of the basin by 247 acre-feet.

Expected Impact:

This agreement will allow the engineer of record to continue to support the project through the construction phase.

Alternative Options:

If construction phase service agreement is not executed, then the project would have to proceed without the assistance of the consultant engineer.

Alignment with Goal(s):

_ Justice and Safety

_ Economic Opportunity

_ Housing

_ Public Health

   Transportation
