Background and Discussion:
The project area is in Southeastern Harris County within Precinct 1 inside the of Unincorporated Houston at Clear Creek Watershed. The goal of the Floating Vegetated Islands is to provide the environmental stormwater quality benefits to the existing Stormwater Detention Basin Project (A500-08-00-E002). This is design was completed by B2Z Engineering team. The construction of the proposed vegetated island is funded by the 2018 Bond (C-05).
Expected Impact:
The objective of this project is to enhance stormwater quality to the Clear Creek Channel, HCFCD Unit A100-00-00. Continuation of CIP efforts to improve conveyance capabilities for the Harris County Drainage Infrastructure of existing assets and newly planned work.
Resultant in reduction of flooding and proper drainage of the Hunting Bayou Watershed flood waters in
this region.
