Background and Discussion:

This contract will be used to supply our repair facilities with automotive parts and supplies for our cars

light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks. Also, on an as needed basis it will enable us to use the service department at the dealership as a supplement to our facilities for heavy duty and/or time-consuming repairs.

Expected Impact:

Awarding this contract will allow us to continue to save County funds by purchasing the items needed through

the bid process, and it will empower us to return the County fleet to the street quicker by utilizing the dealer

service department when needed in keeping the more difficult repairs out of our shops.

Alternative Options:

Many items can be purchased from aftermarket suppliers, and we already utilize that option, but there are no

alternatives for factory only parts. For the service side we can perform the repairs ourselves, but it will cause a

delay in returning vehicles back to their respective departments due to the increased workload.
