Background and Discussion:
The court’s present lease covers 4 reserved parking spaces and 13 unreserved parking spaces at the total annual cost of $38,748.60. The renewal lease will cover the same 4 reserved parking spaces and 13 unreserved parking spaces to accommodate parking for all the court’s employees.
Expected Impact:
The approval of this request provides all the staff of Justice of the Peace Court, Precinct 1, Place 2, with continued use of parking for county business and will ensure the employees are guaranteed parking spaces during working hours. Being located downtown, this is the only JP Court where clerks have had to pay for parking and have been displaced by Astros’ games and other downtown functions and events.
