Background and Discussion:

The widening of Red Bluff Road and construction of a 10-foot multi-use sidewalk removed existing trees and increased heat along the corridor. To restore shade, improve aesthetics, support wildlife, and reduce roadway noise, the City of Seabrook proposes planting 20 trees donated by Trees for Houston, using its established volunteer planting program. The City will maintain the trees, while the County’s contractor will continue mowing the surrounding grass.

Expected Impact:

These improvements will restore shade, reduce heat, enhance corridor aesthetics, and improve environmental quality along Red Bluff Road.

Alternative Options:

The alternative option for this proposal would be not to enter into the agreement and seek other options.
