Background and Discussion:

This is a request to approve right-of-way acquisition for Cypress Creek Right-of-Way Acquisition and Floodplain Preservation in the Cypress Creek watershed. These properties are located near Cypress Creek and North Eldridge Parkway and Cypress Creek and Inverness Levee.

Expected Impact:

These properties will provide floodplain preservation and potential inclusion in a future regional stormwater detention basin and provide permanent access for the operation and maintenance of the Inverness levee.

Alternative Options:

Not approving this item would result in the property located in the floodplain remaining in private ownership and limit the Flood Control District in reducing flood risk in the area.

_ Justice and Safety

_ Economic Opportunity

_ Housing

_ Public Health
