Background and Discussion:

Project involves expansion of the existing wet bottom stormwater detention basin by excavating and disposing of about 160,000 cubic yards of soil thereby expanding the basin by about 48.60 acre-feet.  The Project also intends to add detention capacity by constructing a system to preemptively release water and lowering the water surface elevation in advance of major storms. It includes a 48” outfall pipe from the pond which will release water through a remotely operated plug valve powered by a solar powered battery.

Expected Impact:

The project will address area flood risk reduction.

Alternative Options:

If no action is taken, the area may experience elevated flood risk.
