Background and Discussion:

On Friday, May 30, 2025, Precinct 2 Transportation will take 49 students and 6 chaperones to and from North East STEM Academy (located next to Deputy Darren Almendariz Community Center) to Andretti Indoor Karting & Games Katy. On June 2, the same group will be transported from North East STEM Academy to Taste of Texas.  Both events are sponsored by the North East STEM Academy.

Expected Impact: This initiative supports community engagement and educational enrichment by providing students an exposure to STEM careers and hands-on learning. The trip also offers a recreational and motivational experience, serving as both a reward and an incentive for continued academic engagement.

Alternative Options: Without court approval, students may need to rely on personal transportation, which could limit participation-particularly for underserved communities.
