Request Summary (Agenda Caption):
title
Request for approval to execute an interlocal agreement with the Bridgestone Municipal Utility District for a license agreement that allows Harris County to access and use Bridgestone Municipal Utility District’s sanitary sewer easement to connect and maintain a sanitary force main to Bridgestone Municipal Utility District’s manhole in connection with Wastewater System Rehabilitation - Spring Camp and Klein Park - 2022, Job No. 25/0079, UPIN 23103MF2VT01, Precinct 3.
end
Background and Discussion:
The wastewater from Spring Camp and Klein Park is currently pumped to an existing On-Site Sewage Facility. Sander Engineering Corporation was tasked with providing design, bid, and construction phase services for the design and construction of a lift station, force main, and sanitary sewers to eliminate the On-Site Sewage Facility and send the wastewater to the Bridgestone Municipal Utility District, which is the closest utility district to Spring Camp and Klein Park. They require that a license agreement be executed that allows Harris County to access and use Bridgestone Municipal Utility District’s sanitary sewer easement to connect and maintain a sanitary force main to Bridgestone Municipal Utility District’s manhole.
Expected Impact:
This project will reduce maintenance costs for the Precinct as well as prevent potential environmental hazards caused by an aging On-Site Sewage Facility in a public park.
Alternative Options:
If the license agreement is not executed, then the project could not be constructed, and the Precinct would continue to incur increased maintenance costs related to the On-Site Sewage Facility.
