Background and Discussion:

This project consists of widening an existing two-lane concrete roadway into a standard four-lane boulevard, including associated drainage improvements connecting to both Mueschke 7 and Mueschke 9.  The project limits extend from approximately 2,700 feet south of Draper Road to approximately 500 feet north of Draper Road.  The project was administered by the Office of the County Engineer.

Added Items:

•                     PCO #5 - Contract Time Extension

Four hundred (400) Additional days are required due to the lead time needed for the Precinct to review and approve recommendations necessary to complete the punch list items.

Cost: $0.00               Time: 400 Days

•                     PCO #7 - Final Adjustment for reconciliation of actual quantities used during construction.
Cost: $163,586.44      Time: 0 Days

This Final Change Order provides for a final adjustment in the amount of $163,586.44, representing the reconciliation of actual quantities used during construction versus the original bid quantities.

Expected Impact:

Change includes quantity adjustments of existing items for final values.  Final Adjustment is the reconciliation of actual quantities used in construction against the bid quantities.

This final change order provides a final adjustment to the contract amount of $163,586.44 and a time extension of 400 additional calendar days due to the extended investigation and decision-making period required by the Precinct to evaluate and accept the proposed repair methods for the extensive punch list items.

The change enables the addition of bid item quantities in the contract and guarantees that funds are available to compensate the contractor for their work.

Alternative Options:

The County may choose to approve or deny the change. If the change is not approved, the project may not be completed as originally intended, and the contractor may be unable to receive retainage.
