Background and Discussion:
The Bridge Repair - Brinsap 2020 Package -2 project site consists of improvements and repair of bridges in various locations within Harris County. Major work activities include erosion repairs to seven bridges in Harris County - Precinct 3. Erosion repair work includes restoring eroded channel sections mainly below the bridge and a ditch, re-installing failed riprap, installing new riprap, replacing failed existing concrete slope paving, installing new concrete slope paving, backfilling undermined abutment caps, undermined bottom of box culverts and undermined concrete slope paving, replacing sections of corrugated metal pipes, and backfilling sinkholes.
The changes in contracts include:
• An additional quantity of 10 Linear feet of 36 Inches of Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) is needed to replace the corroded CMP with an additional cost of $6,000.00 and zero calendar days.
• An additional quantity of 58 linear feet of 42" inches of Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) is needed to replace the corroded CMP with an additional cost of $49,687.44 and zero calendar days to complete the proposed work.
• A new line item for Trench Safety System is needed to install 42"-inches of Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) with an additional cost of $1,097.00 and zero calendar days to complete the proposed work.
