Background and Discussion:
The current equipment at Harris County Constable Precinct 4 facilities has become obsolete and cannot be updated or maintained effectively. Harris County Radio Shop has assessed Constable Precinct 4’s facilities and confirmed that the specified equipment, Motorola CommandCentral AXS Dispatch Consoles, is essential for integration with the current County-wide system. Motorola is the exclusive provider of this service. The TXWARN Radio Core is currently configured to integrate seamlessly with Motorola Dispatch consoles, negating the need for additional hardware or licenses. The current proposal provided by Motorola Solutions, Inc. encompasses all necessary hardware and licenses for the installation.
Expected Impact:
The new systems will ensure reliable and efficient communication for law enforcement operations, enhancing the ability of officers to respond to community needs.
Alternative Options:
Should Precinct 4 opt for a non-Motorola P25 compatible dispatch console, significant additional costs would be incurred. This would involve acquiring a CSSI (Console Subsystem Interface) and procuring site and dispatch licenses for each console.
